The Crick Gypsies

Cincinnati, Ohio

The Crick Gypsies will play MPMF.10 at Madonna's, 11 East 7th Street, Downtown on Thursday,  9/23 at 8:30 pm.

Cincinnati, OH is home to The Crick Gypsies, a four piece Americana / Roots / Rock band playing original music, written by band leader Patrick Ewing and lead guitarist, Danny McCarthy.

The band was formed in 2007 and has played local venues like Fountain Square, The Southgate House, Arnold's and many others. The Crick Gypsies performed at MPMF 08 and again at MPMF09. The band has a 5 song demo EP and is currently working on recording a debut full length CD.

With “Post-Modern Blues,” Ewing may have well coined the perfect descriptor for his music. Whether political or personal, Ewing sings in a traditional format about our crazy, mixed-up modern world in a way that listeners can easily identify with and latch on to. That may be Ewing's greatest appeal — his songs are more like a wise buddy talking to you at a bar, devoid of any didactic "I'm the singer, you're the listener" separation.
